CSFC Responds to Two Serious Car Accidents

Firefighters from Cold Spring Fire Company were busy the Friday after Thanksgiving, when they were called to a single car rollover on Route 9D near the Breakneck Tunnel.  Upon arrival firefighters and EMTs found that a single sedan had lost control, struck a guardrail and left the roadway, flipping at least once and coming to rest in a small pond.  The driver was able to self-extricate through the rear window and was transported to St. Francis Hospital.

While cleaning up the scene, firefighters from Cold Spring were called Mutual Aid to Garrison with their rescue tools for another serious car accident involving numerous vehicles on Route 9.  Upon arrival CSFC assisted with extricating an individual from a southbound vehicle that was hit head on by another passenger vehicle.  The patient was transported from the scene by PVAC.
