CSFC Hosts Gathering of Philipstown Fire Leaders

In a meeting reminiscent of the former “Philipstown Five” meetings, the now Philipstown Four – consisting of Cold Spring Fire Company No. 1, North Highlands Engine Company No.1, Garrison Volunteer Fire Company, and Continental Village Fire Department  (Nelsonville Fire Department disbanded c.2002) – met with Councilman John VanTassel and Professional Mediator Joe Hines to discuss ways to further public understanding and perception of the fire services in Philipstown.  Stemming from the public meeting on June 8th, these series of meetings at each department will bring the chiefs and leadership of the various companies together to open a dialogue about how we can better serve our protection areas, work together/drill as mutual aid companies, and preserve the system of volunteer firefighting in Philipstown.

*Interested in volunteering?  Fill out an application, stop by on one of our drill nights (every Tuesday @ 7:30pm) or give us a call 265-9241
